Honestly, this semester has been kicking my ass. Both my professors are horrible for different reasons.
I have one who is clearly flexing her power over her students. It's a 10am class and she locks the door to the lab at 10:00:01 (everyone has skipped class at least once because of traffic, couldn't find parking in time, etc), she's crammed what could easily be two or three courses worth of information into her lesson plans, marks points off of tests for stupid things (ex: I wrote "needles". She wanted "pins". She used both terms interchangeably in lecture), etc. But on top of that, she usually doesn't unlock the door until 5-10 minutes before class, never ties her hair back in the lab (which anyone who's been within 100ft of even a MIDDLE SCHOOL lab knows to do), recycled 90% of her syllabus with minimal editing for the current class (ALL of her figure numbers are for the previous edition of the textbook!), frequently changes the schedule, and has passive-aggressive notes from other staff calling her out taped to the inside of the lab materials door. She's a flaky mess, and while I actually enjoy the class, I hate dealing with her.
My other one has minimal involvement with the class, even for a distance learning course. I've essentially been teaching MYSELF the material through instructional videos on the "textbook" website. She also assigned due dates DURING spring break, blindsiding many of us who assumed we had that time off, because it was a BREAK. And the week we were supposed to have off for break? She's trying to "give" it to us at the end of the semester. By which she means she wants all of our coursework a week before the end of term. So anybody who was blindsided by spring break is now shortchanged TWO weeks of trying to catch up. And unfortunately, I have this professor again next semester because she's the only one who teaches the last class I need to graduate.
I'm not sure the $0.50-$2.00 extra that an associate's degree will get me is worth the headache of trying to complete my associate's. If I wasn't set to graduate at the end of next semester, I'd probably drop out.
